  • Mouse to move the player around the level
  • Left click to make the peasant stop moving
  • Tab to open the inventory
  • Esc to pause the game

You don't have the power to pick the upgrade - your peasant does, and they have a random list of preferences each run. Colours are ranked 1 to 7 and shapes 1 to 4, and the item with the highest total score will be picked by the peasant.

Gregory and The Peasant is a Roguelike game, where you play as a sword, dragging an unlucky peasant through the dungeon to escape your eternal prison. Although you cannot walk (due to a strange absence of legs), your intensive magic allows you to glide all across the dungeon, introducing a unique combat style.

Nice visual style! Interesting gameplay, though it took me a bit to figure it out :)

Thanks! This was for a game jam so we were limited on time, but we definitely should've improved on the tutorial!

Hi, cool game, I am curious what kind of shaders you used ?

Hi! The shader/filter used was Realistic CRT Shader by c64cosmin https://godotshaders.com/shader/realistic-crt-shader/

I really like the concept and the gameplay was pretty fun! I was slightly confused by the graphics however, I didn't realize the "ouch" sounds were the peasant getting hit. It took me a second to realize the dark circle was the peasant's sprite!

Appreciate the feedback, thanks for playing!

What an ingenious mechanic! I loved the fact that you cannot select the upgrade, he does, and then you lose the others, so it's tricky to know what to choose.

Not a big fan of the shader, though.

Fair enough, thanks for playing!
